Question : Revision of Syllabus for NET

(a) whether the University Grants Commission (UGC) has set up a Committee to revise the syllabus/ curriculum of each subject of the National Eligibility Test (NET) for teaching jobs in colleges and universities;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the time by when the Committee is likely to submit its report to the Government; and
(d) the reasons to change/revise syllabus for NET?

(a) to (d) : Yes, Madam. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has intimated that in order to reflect recent advancements in respective syllabi of NET subjects, it has constituted a number of Committees of Experts to revise the syllabi of 84 subjects in which UGC-NET examination is being conducted. ****
