Question : National Cleanliness Authority

(a) whether the Government has recently launched a new website on National Cleanliness Development Mechanism Authority (NCDMA) and if so, the details and objectives thereof;
(b) whether the process of according approval for projects is likely to be expedited after formation of the National Clean Development Mechanism Authority (NCDMA);
(c) if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether the Government has any proposal to earmark 2% of the revenue earned through sale of Certified Emission Reductions (CER) from CDM projects on a large scale for the sustainable development activities of the local communities; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c) Government has recently launched a new website on National Clean Development Mechanism Authority (NCDMA). The new website will capture the entire life cycle of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Projects. The process of according approval for CDM projects is going on since 2004 after the formation of NCDMA in December 2003. The new website will further streamline the working of the India’s National CDM Authority.

(d) & (e) The Government has stipulated that large-scale CDM project should earmark at least 2% of the revenue generated from the sale of Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) to support sustainable development activities for the local communities.
