(c) & (d) While the Coastal Regulation Zone Notification (CRZ) is a Regulation under the Environment (Protection) Act, the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Project is a World Bank assisted environment management project, drawn in consonance with the regulatory provisions as laid down in the CRZ Notification, such as shoreline protection/management and mapping, sewage treatment & effluent treatment, conservation of coastal bio-shields, self-help groups & community based organisations for livelihood and eco-tourism etc. in a holistic manner. An integrated approach to the project was collectively envisaged and designed by various agencies such as MoEFCC, The World Bank, Survey of India, State Governments of Gujarat, Odisha and West Bengal and concerned stakeholder Central Ministries, for scalable and replicable models of various project activities.
