Question : Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G)

(a) the salient features of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G);

(b) the details of the funds allocated, sanctioned and utilized under the said yojana during the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise including Kerala and West Bengal;

(c) the details of the number of people sanctioned houses under the said yojana during the said period, State/UT-wise;

(d) the details of the target set and achievements made thereunder so far along with the steps taken by the Government to achieve the target set for building the houses;

(e) the number of houses which are under construction at present across the country, State/UT-wise;

(f) whether the States have responded very well to the targets set to build these houses and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor along with the action taken by the Government thereon; and

(g) whether the Government proposes to make some amendments under the said yojana and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) : The salient features of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) are as under:

? Identification of beneficiary from Socio Economic & Caste Census (SECC), 2011, list.

? Unit (house) assistance @ Rs. 1.2 lakh in plain areas and @ Rs.1.3 lakh in hilly states including North Eastern States, difficult areas and IAP districts.

? Additional Rs. 12,000/- for toilet construction and 90/95 person-days of unskilled wages from Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), for plain areas/ hilly states respectively.

? The minimum unit (house) size: 25 sq.mt including a dedicated area for hygienic cooking.

(d) & (e): A statement indicating the details of the target set and achievements made under PMAY- G from Financial Year 2016-17 and 2017-18 is at Annexure- III.

(f) : Yes, madam. After the launch of PMAY-G by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 20.11.2016, the number of houses completed is 18,21,867 (as on 05.02.2018) against the target of 75,88,618 ( Financial Year 2016-17 + Financial Year 2017-18) under PMAY-G.

(g) : Yes, madam. Provisions of Framework for Implementation of PMAY-G may be amended as and when required.
