Question : SFURTI SCHEME



(a) the number of families covered under the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) along with the cost incurred during each of the last three years and the current year;

(b) whether KVIC has encountered any problems during the implementation of this scheme;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the steps taken by the Government to overcome such problems?

(a): Government through Khadi and Village Industries Commission(KVIC) and the Coir Board has been implementing a cluster-based scheme named Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) since 2005, under which khadi, village industries and coir clusters have been taken up for development by providing them with improved equipments, common facilities centres, business development services, training, capacity building and design and marketing support, etc. The number of families covered under the SFURTI along with the cost incurred during each of the last three years is given below :
