Question : Economic and Democratic Rights of Tribals

(a) whether the various tribal organisations have recently accused the Union Government of hurting ''economic and democratic rights'' of the tribals/adivasis for the benefits of private players;

(b) if so, the details of representations received by the Government in this regard from various tribal organization as on date along with the action taken/proposed to be taken on such representations;

(c) the details of representations received by the Government which are pending without any action along with the reasons therefor; and

(d) the corrective steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (d): No such representations has been received in this Ministry. However, the Ministry is constantly working towards effective implementation and utilisation of available resources under the various schemes for the development of scheduled tribes, effective implementation of the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006; etc. in order to protect the interest of the tribals.
