(a): 901 Gram Panchayats have been adopted by Hon’ble MPs under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) across the country as on 31st January, 2017. The status of implementation of projects from the Village Developments Plans (VDP) of the SAGY Gram Panchayats, according to the data uploaded by the respective States/UTs on the SAGY portal as on 31st January, 2017 is furnished in Annexure-I. Out of the 40,930 projects taken up under the VDPs works on 54% have been initiated. The States/UTs have reported that 35% of the works are already completed.
(b) to (e) : Under SAGY, Hon’ble Members of Parliament adopt Gram Panchayats and guide their time-bound overall progress. The SAGY GPs prepare Village Development Plans (VDP) through a participatory process giving importance to the specific needs of the GP - including mobile network coverage and intervillage connectivity. Approval of the VDP is done by the District level committee headed by the District Collector, in the presence of the MP duly considering his/her comments and suggestions. The achievement of programme objectives of Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) is intended through the convergence and implementation of existing Government Schemes and Programmes such as Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). The Ministry of Rural Development is coordinating with other Central Ministries/ Departments to ensure provision of four key basic services viz. power, drinking water, roads and education in all SAGY GPs. 21 Schemes have been amended by various Ministries /Departments of Government of India to give priority to SAGY Gram Panchayat projects as on 31st January, 2017. The list of schemes is enclosed as Annexure-II. The Ministry is in the process of conducting post-project assessment of performance and outcomes of SAGY Phase-I and during this process implementing lacunae may be identified.
