(a) Ministry is implementing following schemes for upgradation of Government ITIs:

A mid-term Tracer study was conducted during 2011-12, to measure labour market performance of graduates passed out from Government ITIs and 60% pass-outs find employment within one year of finishing training.
(b) & (c)
(i) 22 new ITIs are covered with an allocation of Rs. 9.5 Crore per ITI under the Scheme “Enhancing Skill Development Infrastructure in NE States & Sikkim”. The details are given at Annexure- 4.
(ii) 34 new ITIs have been identified with an allocation of Rs. 181.22 Crore under scheme “Skill Development in 34 Districts Affected by Left Wing Extremism”. The details are given at Annexure- 5.
(d) The scheme on ‘Upgradation of existing Government ITIs into Model ITIs’ has been taken up during FY 2014-15. The scheme covers upgradation of 29 ITIs with total outlay of Rs. 300 crore.
