Question : Housing for Daily Wage Labourers

(a)whether the Government has formulated any housing scheme particularly for the daily wage labourers in the country;

(a): No, Ministry of Labour & Employment has not formulated any housing scheme particularly for daily wage labourers in the country. However, the Revised Integrated Housing Scheme (RIHS), 2007 for beedi workers is being implemented in the country through the 17 Welfare Commissioners of the Labour Welfare Organisation of the Ministry. The housing subsidy of Rs. 40,000/- is given in two equal installments to the workers for construction of houses.
