Question : PERFORMANCE OF POWER FINANCE CORPORATION .

(a) whether the Government have reviewed in depth the performance of Power Finance Corporation in terms of implementation of its projects and programmes, in the States;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) the details of total investment made by the PFC during the last three years under various projects/programmes/schemes in Maharashtra, year-wise and scheme-wise; and

(d) the details of funds allocated and actually released to Maharashtra during the last three years and allocation made for 2001-02?

(a) & (b) : Government periodically reviews/evaluate the performance of Power Finance Corporation (PFC) through Annual and quarterly performance reviews. Besides that, PFC has been signing Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Power since 1993-94 and the performance of the PFC against the MOU targets has been monitored/evaluated both by the Ministry of Power and Department of Public Enterprises. Based on the performance against the MOU, Department of Public Enterprises has consistently rated PFC `Excellent` in all the years since 1993-94.

(c) : Scheme-wise details of disbursements made by PFC during the last three years in Maharashtra is given in Annexure-I.
(d) : Details of loan amount committed and disbursement made to Maharashtra State Electricity Board during the last three years and commitment made during 2001- 2002 is given in Annexure-II.
