(a) whether the Government has any proposals to set up music and dance schools for economically weaker sections in the country;

(b) Does not arise.
(c) The Government provides support for performing arts, chiefly through the Salary and
Production Grant scheme of the Ministry of Culture. It also give funds to the Sangeet Natak
Akademi, the National School of Drama, the seven Zonal Cultural Centres and the Kalakshetra
Foundation. Amounts sanctioned by the Government in this regard during the last three years
are as under:-
