Question : DISCRIMINATION AT WORK WITH WOMEN JOURNALISTS

(a) whether the Government is aware that the study conducted by Press Trust of India (PTI) revealed in its report that the women journalists are constantly battling discrimination at work place in terms of salary, promotions, amenities, benefits, areas of work allotted and sexual harassment; and

(b) if so, the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Government to overcome the situation?

(a) & (b): The Government is not aware of any study in this regard by the Press Trust of India (PTI) but have received a report on the Status of Women Journalists in India brought out by the National Commission for Women.
