Question : Access to Safe Drinking Water in Gram Panchayats

(a) the number of Gram Panchayats in the country where safe drinking water (filtered water) has been provided during the last three years and the current year along with the details thereof,State-wise;
(b) the status and number of such villages or Gram Panchayats in the country where safe drinking water is not available at present,State-wise;
(c) whether there are such villages or Gram Panchayats in the country where even water is not available; and
(d) if so, the details of such villages,State-wise?

(a) Under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP), coverage of rural drinking supply is maintained in terms of habitation and not in terms of Villages / Gram Panchayats. As reported by States on Integrated Management Information System (IMIS), state-wise details of coverage of safe drinking water / increase of service level in rural habitations for last three years and current year till 10.12.2018 are atAnnexure-I.
(b) State-wise number of Quality Affected habitations (i.e. containing chemical contaminant) till 10.12.2018 is atAnnexure-II.
(c) to (d) There are no rural habitations in the country which are yet to be covered as reported by States on IMIS as ondate.
