(a) the details of Centrally Sponsored Schemes for providing basic facilities for the promotion of sports in the country particularly in National Capital Region (NCR);
(b) the details of the facilities being provided under these schemes; and
(c) the details of funds allocated for the purpose during each of the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise including NCR?

(a)& (b) The Ministry is implementing a Central Sector Scheme named “Khelo India – National Programme for Development of Sports” from the Financial year 2016-17, which covers the entire country, including National Capital Region (NCR). The scheme provides for conduct of sports competition at District, State and National level for boys and girls belonging to different age categories. Scheme provides for identification and nurturing of talented sportspersons. The scheme provides for creation of infrastructure. Various projects are funded subject to feasibility, viability, availability of adequate funds and after taking into account the various facilities available in a State.
Prior to the current financial year 2016-17, a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, namely, Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA) was implemented during the period from 2008-09 to 2013-14 and another
scheme, namely, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA), a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, was implemented during the period 2014-15 and 2015-16. Under PYKKA Scheme, funds were granted to States/UTs for development and maintenance of playgrounds at Village and Block Panchayats and for conducting sports competitions, namely, rural sports competitions, women sports competitions and north east games. Under RGKA Scheme, sports infrastructure and rural sports competitions, women sports competitions, north east games and competitions in left wing extremism affected areas were held.
(c) State-wise details of funds released under PYKKA Scheme during 2013-14 is given at Annexure – I. Details of State-wise funds released under Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA) Scheme are at Annexure – II. Funds released during the current financial year 2016-17 under Khelo India Scheme is at Annexure – III.
