Question : Mobile App for Project Information System

(a) whether the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a mobile app for Project Management Information System, which tracks progress of over 3000 NHAI projects online;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether general public is allowed to use the mobile app to report their experience and complaints, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(d) whether NHAI has launched similar mobile app to monitor maintenance and operation of already built stretches, if so, the details thereof; and

(e) whether the Government has any proposal to constitute District Level Monitoring Group headed by a sitting Member of Parliament to check the progress of projects, if so, the details thereof, if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (b) Yes, Madam. The Mobile App Project Monitoring Information System (PMIS) is a mobile application for web version of the same. It is available on Google Play Store and App Store to download. The mobile App can be accessed through secured login ID’s provided to all concerned stakeholders viz. Project Directors, Regional officers, CGMs, GMs, etc. to update and monitor the progress of projects under their jurisdiction.

(c) No, Madam. It is presently designed for dissemination and exchange of project related information between Headquarter and field units of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

(d) No, Madam.

(e) No, Madam. However, issues regarding project progress and monitoring are raised and resolved during District Level Coordination Meetings with District Magistrates; and then at State Level Coordination Meetings with State Nodal Officers (Principal Secretaries) by Regional Officers in National Highway Authority of India’s (NHAI’s) field offices.
