(a) Yes, Madam. The Wakf Act, 1995 came into force w.e.f. 1-1-1996 throughout the country except in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
(b) State Wakf Boards have been set up under the Wakf Act, 1995 in Andhra Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam, Bihar (Sunni & Shia), Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Orissa, Punjab, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (Sunni & Shia), Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
