(a) & (c) Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) was launched during the year 2015-16, with an aim to enhance physical access of water on farm and expand cultivable area under assured irrigation, improve on farm water use efficiency, introduce sustainable water conservation practices, etc. It comprises of various components such as Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (AIBP), Har Khet Ko Pani (HKKP), Per Drop More Crop and Watershed Development.
Under Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (AIBP), Ninety Nine (99) ongoing Major/Medium Irrigation Projects (including Sardar Sarovar Project of Gujarat) along with their Command Area Development & Water Management (CADWM) works having potential of 76.03 lakh ha., have been identified in consultation with States, for completion in phases by Dec., 2019. For completion of these projects in a mission mode, funding mechanism through NABARD has been approved by the Government for both central and State share.
As per Guidelines of PMKSY, State level planning and execution of the scheme is carried out on the basis of District Irrigation Plans (DIPs) and State Irrigation Plans (SIPs).
(b) Details of funds released to Gujarat state during 2016-17 under PMKSY are as under:
