Question : Corporate Social Responsibility

(a) the details of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) schemes taken up by both public and private industrial units in the last five years;

(b) the details of schemes and funds spend for CSR activities in Keonjhar district since the year 2011-12;

(c) whether any scheme remained incomplete or the funds were under-utilised; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a)&(b): The Central Public Sector Enterprises under the Ministry undertake schemes/projects under Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) as per the provisions of Section 135 & Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013 in the local areas where they operate. During the last five years such schemes/projects have been aligned with the national development agenda of healthcare, safe drinking water, Swachhata initiatives, women empowerment, promotion of education, skill development, art & culture, rural development, environmental sustainability etc. No such CSR activity has been funded specifically in Keonjhar District of Odisha since the year 2011-2012.

(c) & (d): CSR activities are ongoing in nature and schemes/projects are carried forward to the next financial year for their completion.
