(a) whether the Government have abolished 12,000 posts in various ministries;
(b) if so, the details of the ministries where the posts have been abolished;
(c) whether the abolition of posts and adverse effect on the department; and
(d) if so, the corrective steps taken in this regard?

(a)& (b) : On the basis of the Expenditure Reforms Commission recommendations, 11,485 posts at different levels have been abolished so far. Ministry-wise details are as per annexure.
(c) & (d) The abolition of posts is not likely to have any adverse impact, as only those posts have been abolished which have been found to be surplus.
