(a) whether the Bharat Electronics Ltd. has developed hi-tech coastal scan system for
the Coast Guard to monitor every square inch of the entire sea of the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the time schedule of installation of the said system at various coastal
locations/stations?

(a) & (b): Madam, a project for installation of a chain of Static Sensors for coastal
surveillance is under implementation. In the first phase, surveillance is being enhanced at
46 locations around high traffic density and security sensitive areas.Another 40 stations
will be established in Phase-II.
(c) Implementation of the first phase of the project is expected to be completed by 2012.
