(a) the details about the total number of monuments and tourist sites given to private entities for maintenance under Monument Mitra Scheme, State-wise;
(b) whether the Government has also planned to revamp the existing monuments of States including the State of Tamil Nadu under PPP model; and
(c) if so, the details thereof and the actions taken by the Government for upgradation of existing sites, excavation of new places with PPP?

(a) Under “Adopt a Heritage Scheme” administered by Ministry of Tourism, 24 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) have been signed among Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), and monument Mitra for providing facilities and amenities at centrally protected monuments. Details are at Annexure.
(b) & (c) No such proposal is under consideration with respect to centrally protected monuments or sites including the State of Tamil Nadu under PPP model.
Conservation and preservation of centrally protected monuments and sites and providing facilities by ASI as per the need, and availability of resources, is a regular phenomenon.
