Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) whether Union Government has received any proposal/request to establish ‘State Cancer Institute’ in Bilaspur from Chhattisgarh Government;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the decision taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (c): Under the Strengthening of Tertiary Care Cancer facilities scheme under National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke (NPCDCS), a proposal for setting up of State Cancer Institute (SCI) at Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur was received from the State Government. However, the same could not be approved due to non-fulfillment of deficiencies in the proposal, by the State Government.
