Question : VACANCY OF POST OF CA COST



(a) whether the post of Chief Adviser (Cost) in the grade and pay scale of Secretary to the Government of India, is lying vacant for the last more than six years;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;

(c) whether advertisement for the same has been published several times during the above period; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken by the Government for filling up this vacant post?

(a) & (b): The post of Chief Adviser (Cost) in the Indian Cost Accounts Service under the Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure has been lying vacant with effect from 20/8/2013 on account of deemed retirement of Shri D.C.Bajaj from the post of Chief Adviser (Cost).

(c) & (d): Advertisement for the post of Chief Adviser (Cost) has not been issued since 20/8/2013 i.e. the date from which the post is lying vacant. The post of Chief Adviser (Cost) is filled up as per Indian Cost Accounts Service (Amendment) Rules, 2012.
