Question : FUNCTIONING OF GOVERNMENT HOSPITALS



(a) the list of Government-run hospitals operating in the country along with the funds sanctioned released and utilized by the States/UTs for the development of infrastructure therein during each of the last three years and the current year, State/ UT-wise;

(b) whether the Government has undertaken any survey study to assess the functioning of these hospitals, including availability of beds, availability of drugs, human resources, proper medical equipment, sanitation, drinking water andwaste-disposal facilities;

(c) if so, the details and the outcome thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(d) the total number of hospitals upgraded/modernized in the country during each of the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise;

(e) whether the Government has taken note of the long waiting time for surgeries and treatment at such hospitals and the hardships caused therein, if so, the details thereof and the steps taken/being taken by the Government in this regard; and

(f) the corrective measures taken or likely to be taken by the Government to further improve the functioning of these hospitals?
