(a) the names of four varieties of wheat developed for eastern regions by the Government;

(b) the details of developed varieties of wheat which are giving high yield in the States of eastern regions, State-wise and district-wise;

(c) whether the yield of this developed wheat is more than other varieties of wheat;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the per acre yield of this wheat in terms of quintal?

(a) & (b): The names of four wheat varieties released recently by Central Variety Release Committee for cultivation in the Eastern Region of India are; HD 2733, HUW 468, PBW 443 and PBW 343. The details of these varieties are given in Annexure - I.

(c) Yes, Sir.

(d)& (e): These varieties are better in yield as compared to other varieties/check. Details are given in Annexure-I.

Annexure I

The details of four wheat varieties released recently by Central Variety Release Committee (CVRC) for Eastern Region comprising the States of Uttar Pradesh (Eastern parts), Bihar, West Bengal Orissa, Assam, Jharkhand and plain areas of North Eastern States.
