Question : NH Projects in Odisha

(a) whether the technical/financial sanction has been granted for construction of National Highway on Motu to Mathili section in Malkangiri district of Odisha in Vijayawada-Ranchi corridor and Raipur to Vishakhapatnam economic corridor in Odisha;
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(c) the present status of other related works including acquisition of land in this regard; and
(d) the steps being taken by the Government to expedite the process to complete the projects in a stipulated time frame?

(a) to (d) In the Motu to Mathili section of NH-326 of 141.444 km in Malkangiri district of Odisha under Vijaywada-Ranchi corridor, the widening of the section from km 327/700 to km 413/700 (42.70 km) has been recently completed in December, 2019, work has been sanctioned for Strengthening work from km 413/700 to km 429/700 (16 km) and periodical renewal work from km 429/700 to km 475/900 (46.200 km) of existing 2 lane has been taken up. Strengthening of existing 2 lane from km 475/900 to km 512/444 (36.544 km) is included in Annual Plan 2021-22. Raipur to Visakhapatnam economic corridor on NH-130CD is of 464 km of which 240 km is in Odisha. Out of 240 km a length of 124 km at a cost of Rs 2869 Crore has been approved till date. Land acquisition and Forest clearance are in advanced stage. Environmental Clearance has been obtained. All the stages of the development of the corridor are being closely monitored by NHAI to complete it in stipulated time.
