STATEMENT
STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION No. 455 FOR ANSWER ON 27.03.2018 REGARDING NATIONAL URBAN LIVELIHOOD MISSION
(a) “Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM)” is being implemented in 32 towns/cities in the State of Andhra Pradesh since April 2014. Presently, the Mission has been extended to cover all the 110 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the State. In Kurnool district, DAY-NULM is being implemented in all the 10 ULBs, viz., Adoni, Allagadda, Atmakur, Banganapally, Dhone, Gudur, Kurnool, Nandikotkur, Nandayal and Yemmiganur.
(b) As per the Mission guidelines, evaluation of the Mission is to be undertaken during the course of its implementation to assess outcomes to effect mid-term corrections and align the Scheme for achievement of its key objectives. Mid-term evaluation of DAY-NULM is presently underway.
(c) Since April, 2014, at the national level, 10,60,330 persons have been provided skill training, 2,70,178 beneficiaries have been assisted for setting up individual and group micro-enterprises, 2,73,301 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) have been formed, 1,88,089 SHGs have been given Revolving Fund and 3,74,406 loans have been disbursed to SHGs under SHG- Bank Linkage Programme. In addition, 789 shelters have been made functional and 2112 cities have completed survey of urban street vendors.
