(a) whether laboratories for the testing of samples of adulterated sweets ,vegetables and food have been set up in every State;
(b) if so, the total of such labs in every States, State- wise;
(c) whether the Government is considering on a single integrated food law to replace several laws to ensure punishment for adulteration and check adulteration ; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) Under prevention of Food Adulteration (PFA) Rules,
1955, there are 72 Food Testing Laboratories of
States/Union Territories Governments and 4 appellate
Central Food laboratories located at Kolkata,
Ghaziabad, Mysore and Pune working for analysis of samples
of food products. The details of States/U.Ts. Laboratories
is at Annex-1.
(c) & (d) : The Government has constituted a Group of
Ministers (GOM) to propose legislative and other changes
considered necessary for finalizing the Integrated Food Law
and related regulations.
