Question : Subsidy on H.S.D. Oil for Fishermen

Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE ???? ??? ???? ?????? ??????
be pleased to state:

(a) whether it is a fact that fishermen are not getting the benefits of subsidy on High Speed Diesel oil;
(b) if so, the reasons therefor;
(c) whether the Government is considering to remove the BPL condition for fishermen; and
(d) if so, the time by which the proposal is likely to be implemented?

(a) to (d): The proposal of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries for continuation of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Development of Marine Fisheries, Infrastructure and Post Harvest Operations” during the 11th Plan with enhanced subsidy on High Speed Diesel (HSD) from 1.50 per litre to 3.00 per litre was approved in February, 2009 with one of the conditions that such subsidy should be provided only to the fishers belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL). The said scheme has also been allowed to continue during the current financial year (2015-16) with the same condition.
