(a) whether Indian Institutes of Information Technology have proposed to start dual degree courses in view of the market demand;

(b) if so, the names of the IIITs and the details of the courses proposed to be started in these institutions; and

(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c) The four (04) Centrally funded Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) namely at Allahabad, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Kancheepuram are already offering dual degree courses. In the twenty IIITs established under Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) mode and one Centrally funded IIIT at Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh), infrastructure is developing and hence, presently, they are not able to introduce dual degree courses.

2. The Board of Governors of these IIITs are empowered to start new courses, including dual degree course.
