(a) the number of infrastructure companies indulged in construction of National Highways and Ports and Power generation whose financial condition has gone worse;
(b) whether the Government proposes to conduct any investigation into the said companies; and
(c) if so, the time by which the said investigation is likely to take place?

(a) Information in this regard is not centrally maintained. However, an analysis of financial results of 2013-14 by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) reveals that out of a sample of 3311 companies operating in the construction and power sector, a total of 549 companies have high leverage and poor debt serviceability.
