Question : EXCHANGE OF VISITS BY TRIBALS



(a) the eligibility for the Central Scheme of `Exchange of Visitors by Tribals` introduced by the Government.

(b) the criteria for selection of States;

(c) the agency through which the selection of beneficiaries is made

(d) whether the Government propose to cover more States under the scheme paiticuiariy Bihar, and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b)Under the Central Scheme of `Exchange of visits by Tribals,` any Scheduled Tribe beneficiary from any State/Union Territory belonging to the economically weaker class not having income above the poverty line may be selected. For cultural exchange or sports meets, however, the beneficiaries should be professionally qualified and should not have income above Rs.5,000/- per month.

(c) The selection of beneficiaries is done by the concerned State Government/Union Territory Administration.

(d) & (e) The Scheme is applicable to all the States and UTs, including Bihar.
