Question : Proposal of Ban on Right Wing Organisation

(a) whether as per the charge sheet filed by ATS of Maharashtra State Police, some right wing outfit like Sanathan Sanstha, Hindu Jangagurti and some other smaller outfit hatched conspiracy to undermine security and sovereignty of the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government proposes to ban such outfits in the interest of the nation to safeguard the unity and integrity of the country; and

(d) if so, the steps taken or being taken in this regard?

(a) & (b): The subject refers to ATS of Maharashtra Police. Since, “Public order” and “Police” are State subjects as per the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution, the above matter pertains to the Government of Maharashtra;

(c): No such proposal from the State or agencies has been received by the Central Government;

(d): Question does not arise.
