(a): Expansion and development of airports including airports in Maharashtra is a continuous process and is undertaken by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) or other airport operators from time to time depending upon commercial viability, traffic demand, availability of land etc. Presently, AAI has undertaken major upgradation works at Juhu, Kolhapur and Pune Airports in Maharashtra at Administrative Approval and Expenditure Sanction Cost of Rs.38.80 crore, 274.27 crore and 475.39 crore respectively. ;
(b): As per National Monetization Pipeline, 25 AAI airports namely Bhubaneshwar, Varanasi, Amritsar, Trichy, Indore, Raipur, Calicut, Coimbatore, Nagpur, Patna, Madurai, Surat, Ranchi, Jodhpur, Chennai, Vijayawada, Vadodara, Bhopal, Tirupati, Hubli, Imphal, Agartala, Udaipur, Dehradun and Rajahmundry have been earmarked for asset monetization over the years 2022 to 2025.;
(c): AAI has projected a land requirement of 8 acre to the State Government of Maharashtra for construction of parallel taxi track at Aurangabad Airport to reduce the runway occupancy time and thus thereby increasing the capacity of the airport. Land is yet to be made available to AAI.;
(d): Osmanabad airport is owned by the State Government of Maharashtra and hence the responsibility of its upgradation lies with the State Government. However, Ministry of Civil Aviation has listed Osmanabad airport as unserved airports in the UDAN scheme document. However, no valid bid has been received from any airline for operation of flights from the airport.
