Question : Rail Projects in Andhra Pradesh

(a) the total number of projects that are yet to be completed in the State of Andhra Pradesh;
(b) the total funds that have been allocated to the State of Andhra Pradesh towards the completion of newly introduced projects, including new rail lines;
(c) whether the Railways has taken cognizance of the increased requirement of new rail lines in the State of Andhra Pradesh to be built in and around the new capital city and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) whether the Government has a plan to increase the funds allotted to the State owing to its increased rail infrastructure requirement and if so, the details thereof?

(a) Thirty three New Line/Doubling projects falling fully/partly in the State of Andhra Pradesh are in different stages of planning/sanction/execution.
(b) Funds are allotted projectwise not Statewise. However, total allocation of budget for infrastructure & safety works fully/partly in the state of Andhra Pradesh in 2018-19 is ?3670 crore.

(c) A project of new line between Vijayawada and Guntur via Amravati has been included in Pinkbook 2017-18 subject to requisite approvals. DPR has been made for Errupalem-Namburu via Amravathi single line (56.53 km). Inter Ministerial consultation for the project has been taken up.
(d) The allocation of Budget is done on project wise and not State-wise. Further, the outlay for each project is given based on status of land acquisition, progress of project, relative priority and last mile connectivity projects.
