THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT

(SHRI BABUL SUPRIYO)

(a)&(b): Yes, Madam. Dustbins are provided at selected locations of metro stations as decided by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in Delhi Metro network. In Bangalore and Chennai Metro network, dustbins are provided at all metro stations. The other upcoming metro projects such as Hyderabad Metro, Kochi Metro, Nagpur Metro, Mumbai Metro line-3 and Ahmadabad Metro have provisions for dustbin based on station size, lay out, design and requirement.

(c)&(d): All metro stations of metro projects being implemented under 50:50 joint venture partnership between Government of India (GoI) and respective State/ Union Territory Governments have toilets in the paid and/or unpaid area. Direction has been issued to all metro companies implementing metro projects under 50:50 joint venture partnership between Government of India (GoI) and respective State/ Union Territory Governments to provide toilets in the paid area of all proposed metro stations. Further, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has informed that 32 upcoming stations under Delhi Metro Phase-III project in Delhi have toilets in the paid area.

There are no separate funds earmarked for construction of toilets at metro stations. Toilets are integral part of station design and the cost of construction of toilets is part of the project cost.
