MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (SHRI K.H. MUNIYAPPA)

(a) & (b) Coaches for passenger services are provided with a certain level of amenities and fittings, besides conforming to laid down safety benchmark. Maintenance and upkeep of coaches is a continual requirement and this is carried out periodically during laid down maintenance schedule in open line, as well as periodic overhauls in the Workshops. Besides, coaches are also given a ‘Mid-life’ rehabilitation to restore their condition.

(c) to (e) Increase in the frequency of 2439/2440 Ranchi-New Delhi Rajdhani Express from 2 days to 3 days a week is not feasible at present due to operational and resource constraints.
