Question : Safety and Health Exhibition Centre

(a)whether Regional Labour Institute (RLI), Faridabad has developed a permanent Safety and Health Exhibition Centre on Asbestos and Silica which is first of its kind in the country to generate awareness among the stakeholders of Silica and Asbestos handling units on different aspects of health and safety;
(b)if so, the details thereof;
(c)whether the Government proposes to set up more such Safety and Health Exhibition Centres in various parts of the country; and
(d)if so, the time by which the same is likely to be considered?

(a) & (b): Yes Madam, Regional Labour Institute (RLI), Faridabad has developed a permanent “Safety and Health Exhibition Centre on Asbestos and Silica” which is the first of its kind in India to generate awareness amongst the stakeholders of Silica and Asbestos handling units on different aspects of health and safety.

The Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Labour and Employment has inaugurated this newly developed centre on 30.09.2015. The Exhibition Centre will provide information on the adverse effects of various forms of asbestos and silica to the visitors, especially the occupational safety and health professionals, employers and employees from industries.
