Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the number of hostels constructed under Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatravas Yojana (BJRCY) in Uttar Pradesh; and
(b) the number of hostels under construction under this scheme, State-wise?

(a): A total number of 25 SC boys/girls hostels have been sanctioned for construction in the State of Uttar Pradesh from 2007-08 till date under Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatravas Yojna (BJRCY). Of these, construction work of 21 hostels has been completed as reported by the State Government.
(b): As per the scheme guidelines of BJRCY, hostels are to be completed within a period of 2 years from the date of sanction of the project. State-wise number of hostels under construction under the Scheme is annexed.
