Question : EDUCATION TO POOR PEOPLE



(a) whether the Karnataka Open University’s ambitious plan to take education to every nook and corner of the State for the last three years has failed to take-off due to financial constraints;

(b) if so, whether despite giving a detailed programme to the Government of Karnataka in 1999 to take education opportunities to poor people of the state, this proposal is gathering dust;

(c) if so, the main reasons for not implementing the said plan;

(d) whether the Government have been requested to provide funds to implement the said schemes; and

(e) if so, the extent to which the Union Government have agreed to provide help and assistance to State Government for implementing the scheme?
