Question : INDIRA AWAS YOJANA .

(a) the number of Indira Awas allotted under Indira Awas Yojana to the people belonging to economically weaker sections in Uttar Pradesh during each of the last three years;

(b) the target set to provide housing loan particularly to the people belonging to economically weaker sections during the 12th Five Year Plan;

(c) whether the Government has received any financial assistance from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for housing sector; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) Under IAY, financial assistance is provided as ex-gratia and not as loan to the houseless rural BPL households for construction of a dwelling unit. The year-wise number of houses allotted to the BPL households for Uttar Pradesh during the last three years is as under:
