(a) to (c): The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has constituted an Environment and Climate Change Cell under the Dte. General of Health Services. An Expert Committee under the Chairmanship of Dr.V.M.Katoch, Ex-DG and Secretary, Department of Health Research has also been constituted for a Plan of Action for Climate Change and Human Health. A Centre for Environment and Climate has also been established in the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is not running any National Programme on Environment Health.
The Ministry of Environment Forest & Climate Change has undertaken certain programmes/research proposals on environmental health issues. Details of the proposals, funds sanctioned and released are as under:
