(a): Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources has incurred an expenditure of about Rs 5.80 crores during the financial year 2001-2002 on the publicity/awareness programmes in the country including rural masses for the better use of renewable energy source particularly biogas, wind and solar energy.

(b): The Ministry has launched extensive awareness programmes in the country including rural areas for better use of renewable energy sources. Under the programmes electronic, print, exhibitions and outdoor media involving Radio programmes, advertisements in newspapers, publicity materials, mobile exhibition vans, hoardings/kiosks/bus back panels, song & drama, etc. are used for creating extensive awareness of renewable energy sources.
