Question : AP Re-organisation Act- 2014

(a) whether the Government is committed to fully implement the assurances made in the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act, 2014 with regard to creation of funding for construction of new capital city, Secretariat, establishment of new railway zone at Visakhapatanam, setting up of new steel plant, Agricultural University, Tribal University and establishment of various educational institutions and financial resource gap funding including for the Polavaram irrigation project;

(b) if so, the details of the implementation of each provision made in the AP Re-organisation Act, 2014, so far; and

(c) the reasons for delay/non implementation regarding creation of new separate railway zone, steel plant etc.?

(a) to (c): The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act (APR Act), 2014 has made lot of provisions for overall development of the successor States of Andhra Pradesh as well as Telangana. Various Ministries are to implement the projects as listed out in Schedule-13 as well as different Sections of the APR Act, 2014. Many of the provisions of the APR Act, 2014 have already been implemented. Some of the projects as mentioned in Schedule 13 of the Act have long gestation period. Being the nodal Ministry, implementation of these provisions of the Act is being closely monitored by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
