Question : CONSTRUCTION OF MYSORE CALICUT LINE



(a) whether Central Electricity Authority is considering the proposal of construction of Mysore-Calicut 400 KV line;

(b) if so, the time by which the approval is likely to be given and the work likely to be started; and

(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c) : POWERGRID has planned to establish a 400 kV Mysore – Calicut D/C line along with 400/220 KV, 2x315 MVA sub-stations at Mysore and Calicut as part of transmission system associated with Kaiga-II (2x220 MW) Project of Nuclear Power Corporation during 10th Plan period. The transmission project is envisaged to be completed by 2006-07. POWERGRID is preparing the feasibility report of the transmission project which will be considered by Central Electricity Authority for techno-economic approval. The work on the project will start after the investment approval by the Government.
