Question : Ground for Adoption

(a) the procedure that will be adopted to ensure compliance towards gender and religion neutral grounds for adoption and guardianship;
(b) whether the Government will be taking any steps to review such cases that were in the past refused due to such grounds;
(c) if so, the time period upto which the cases will be reviewed;
(d) whether the Government is planning to make grounds for divorce award and divorce alimony, gender and religion neutral;
(e) if so, the details thereof; and
(f) if not, the reasons behind it?

(a) to (c) : The procedures for ensuring compliance towards gender and religion neutral grounds for adoption and guardianship are governed by the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, and the Guardians and Wards Act, 1890 respectively.

(d) : Sir, the matter relating to divorce, alimony, etc., to be made uniform for all citizens without prejudice to caste, religion, etc., is sub judice.

(e) and (f): In view of (d) above, do not arise.
