(a) & (b) Public Health being a State subject, the primary responsibility to provide adequate AYUSH treatment facilities in the States/UTs including rural areas of the country lies with the respective State/UT Governments. However, under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of the National AYUSH Mission (NAM), there is provision of financial assistance for setting up of up to 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals, upgradation of standalone Government AYUSH hospitals & dispensaries, co-location of AYUSH facilities at Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs) and District Hospitals (DHs) for providing AYUSH treatment facilities in the States/UTs including rural areas of the country. The State/UT-wise status of AYUSH healthcare facilities supported by the Ministry of AYUSH as per the proposals received from the State/UT Governments in State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) and as per the guideline of NAM is furnished at Annexure-I.
(c) Under NAM, there is provision for financial assistance for setting up of new up to 50-bedded integrated AYUSH Hospital. Grant-in-aid is being provided to State/UT Governments as per the proposals submitted through SAAPs and as per the guideline of NAM. The State/UT wise list of up to 50-bedded integrated AYUSH Hospitals approved is furnished at Annexure-II.
