Question : Piped Water Supply

(a) the details of number of households to which piped drinking water is supplied by the Government and the percentage of people and households covered under it, State-wise including West Bengal;
(b) the total funds allocated/released and spent under the said scheme during the last three years and the current year and the funds likely to be spent for achieving this target, State-wise including West Bengal; and
(c) the time by which the piped drinking water is likely to be supplied to all rural households?

(a)As reported by States/ UTs, as on 21.11.2019, about 18.41% [3.29 Crore] rural households have tap connections with piped water supply (PWS).State-wise details are at Annex–I. However, the details of people provided with household connections in rural areas are not maintained by this Department.
(b) Details of the total funds allocated, released and utilizedunder erstwhile National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) during the last three years and under the Jal Jeevan Mission(JJM) in the current year, areat Annex–II.
(c) JJM aims at providing potable drinking water at the service level of 55 litre per capita per day (lpcd) to every rural household of the country through Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) by 2024.
