(a) whether the Government proposes to introduce certain amendments in the engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) policy;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the reasons therefor;
(c) the manner in which the new provisions are likely to be beneficial with regard to construction of national highways; and
(d) the time by which a final decision regarding the new provision in likely to be taken?

(a) to (d) : The Contract documents are evolutionary in nature and undergo changes based on the feedback received from the stakeholders from time to time. Recently Ministry has brought modification regarding provision of Defects Liability Period (DLP) and Maintenance period for the road works from two years to four years in Model Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) document. This will further enhance the quality of works executed by the contractors.
