(a) & (b): It is an endeavour of the Government to make the students self-reliant after completing their education in accordance with National Education Policy (NEP). In order to integrate skill development/vocational education with general education, as recommended in the NEP 2020, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is developing the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) in consultation with the States/UTs.
(c): Generic skills, including basic/fundamental skills, people-related skills, conceptual/thinking skills, personal skills and attributes, skills related to the business world, skills related to the community service and vocational skills that cut across the occupations or jobs have been identified as skills that would be introduced in the initial stages of education.
(d) & (e): Technical or functional job skills and experience relate to a specific task, such as knowledge of software, processes, machinery, etc. After completing Vocational Education in schools, the students have the option to opt for vocational courses in ITIs/ Polytechnics /B. Voc colleges or opt for academic courses or consider selfemployment depending upon their aspirations and needs. The existing system of integration of vocational education with general education under Samagra Shiksha provides for flexibility to students to choose for vocational path as per their interest and aspirations.
